Spectacular Death Tabbard

Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

If you have examined the guild calendar, you might notice the last event of March is Ulduar. This is not just any old Ulduar raid. This is a Herald of the Titans raid.

For the few people in the back who aren't quite sure what this is, let me explain.
Step 1:  Level a toon to 80.
Step 2:  Freeze its XP. You do this by going to the rogue in the battle room in Stormwind Keep.
Step 3:  Accumulate gear no higher than ilevel 100.
Step 4:  Sign up for the March 30th event.
Step 5:  Down Algalon and all your toons have the "Herald of the Titans" achievement.

Here is lil'Gimm all ready for Ulduar with the exception of gems and enchants. I got the title on Epicurian, but I'm ready to go again on this character since big Gimm was too big when we decided we wanted to do this.

So how do you get gear? Well, first you tell myself, Tarsan, or Mizauki that you're ready with your character. Then, we run you through Ulduar and Naxxramas for gear. These places have the appropriate gear for this encounter. (There are also battle pets, the non-existant Mimiron's head off Yogg, and transmog items.)

Your gems and enchants can be Cataclysm quality and we have a number of people who can make the right gems and enchants for you. Just tell us you're ready and we'll mobilize. You have four weeks and with the faster leveling, even if you make a character this week, as long as you stick with it, we can have your character ready to go. A lot of people have toons from the last time we did this still at level 80 and willing to run this again for those who want the title. These little-played toons can go into the storage guild, Eats Bacon, if you want to keep it just for Legacy events.

I will be needing Cataclysm-era herbs, fish and meat to cook and make flasks for this group. If you have some to donate or wish to help, those are good things to farm and stick on the first tab of the bank.

The Algalon fight is one of my favorites. I love the introduction to it and it's just cool. If you have questions I didn't cover, ask here or hit up myself, Mizauki, or Tarsan and we'll be happy to answer them. Depending upon interest, we can do this again in April if you can't make the March event, but I think we're getting down to not many people needing this anymore so the Legacy group is going to turn its attentions to a different raid. Hello Arthas.

Cross Off Raids

Gimmlette a posted Mar 4, 19

Well, we can cross that off the "to do" list.

I thought it was a lot of fun. Of course we way outgear the place so some bosses didn't get into phase 2, but we downed everyone in, roughly, 90 minutes. The Gul'dan fight has always been visually amazing. In mythic, it's doubly so.

Note the eyeball in the background. That motif has continued into Uldir with an eye of C'thun behind Zek'voz. Trust me on this. Somewhere, in the thousands of screenshots I've taken, is an image of C'thun's eye on the wall behind Zek'voz. I thought I posted it to FB because some of you didn't believe me, but it's true. I'll find the screenshot when I'm looking for something else.

What's left of old content? Well, we have that very annoying place, Tomb of Sargeras, unconquered in mythic. That end boss, Kil-something or other, just kills us without a second thought so we set it aside last year and haven't decided when we're going back in.

Here's the thing about Kil'jaden and mythic Tomb. We're struggling against Zul in Uldir. If we can get Zul down without a huge struggle or a massive amount of random luck, we have a chance to blast Kil'jaden through the phases that wipe us off his platform. He would never get a chance to do those phases for very long. But, we'd need massive amounts of dps. So, by working to raise your dps for Zul, you've given us a shot at clearing mythic Tomb. If we struggle against Zul, we're going to struggle against KJ and it's not worth the repair bills to go in there and wipe continually.

Looking ahead, we can probably work on mythic Antorus. We haven't cleared it heroically, but we could probably skip that and go right into mythic. The thing about mythic is we can only take 20 people so you'll need to be quick about signing up if you have an interest in coming along

Now, speaking of clearing things, Deathtacular did this.

Raids left to clear are Baradin Hold in Tol'Barad and Heroic Garrosh in Siege of Orgrimmar and then we'll be solidly in Warlords content where there are a number of things we haven't done as a guild. To clear Baradin Hold, we need to take Tol'Barad from the Alliance. That's one battleground where Alliance seems to have a bit of an upper hand. It's a level 85 raid so if we can nab the battleground, we can take a lot of people into BT. Heroic Garrosh is level 90 but we need at least 18 people to make a guild group to get the achievement. So, we'll need all hands on deck when we go do that.

When we head into Warlords and beyond content, we'll need at least 16 people because the achievements require that 20% of the allowable raid numbers be guild members. So, if you're looking for something to do, level those horde toons to 100 so we can wander through Warlords and beyond content and get achievements.

Thanks to everyone who participated in both of these events. I love getting achievements and I hope you do, too.

Uldir on Saturday

Gimmlette a posted Feb 7, 19

We got Vetis down so we are on to Zul.

By all accounts, Zul is the hardest fight in this raid. It's hugely healing intensive. We need lots of dispells. Why Blizzard does this kind of thing, I don't know. For a time, it was "bring the player, not the class". Now, we are back to "bring the class because if you don't, you're screwed".

Anyway, we're in Uldir, at Zul, on Saturday at 9 p.m. You know the drill. Please be outside the raid by 8:45 so we can hand out potions. You need to be gemmed and enchanted. Enchanters, please review our stash of ring enchants. I don't think we have everything we could have. If you need a gem or enchant and don't see it in the bank or can't remove it from the bank, speak up. We're self-sufficient here so you never need to go to the AH for items.

We also almost never ask you to watch fight videos, but I'm suggesting you do that for this fight.

This is a good video and it might help you understand what is expected of us in order to get past Zul. We are not going back into Dazar'alor until we clear Uldir. We need people who can dispell so if you have a toon that can do this, please consider bringing it. Your action bars nedd to be set up so you can find your dispells quickly. I don't want to hear in chat, "I don't know what my dispell is." I'm telling you right now, I will call you out on that -- privately -- but I will call you out. Learn what your toon can do so you can be an asset. This is not a farming run so little played toons -- where you don't know their buttons -- can get gear. Don't be "that guy".

This is going to be stressful. We got him to, maybe, 70% our first concerted effort. Please come ready to work. There will be NO late arrivals unless you have cleared this with Tarsan, Mizauki, or myself. If you are late, even if it was unintended and you signed up, you will not go. Sorry, but we have a boss to kill and it is disruptive to add people after we have engaged trash. Also, if you are going to be more than 20 minutes late, we will not add you. We run on momentum and stopping to add someone breaks that.

Here we go. Let's down Zul.

For those who don't know what this achievement is, here is the original achievement.

But, with the change to Ulduar which consolidated 10 and 25 man runs into one unit, the achievement was changed. We tried it before Ulduar went to a consolidated raid, but tuning was terrible and we weren't able to last through the second phase. Things just hit the tank too hard.

In discussing events we'd like to run, we wondered how Herald of the Titans was doing. Had it been removed from the game with the retooling or was it still available? It's a great fight and requires attention not only to the raid mechanics, but also your character. It's not easy to get.

Your officers discussed it and we'd like to run it again, for those people who don't have this achievement and would like it. You will need to level a character to 80 and freeze the XP. Then, you'll need to gear it up. Zylostout has posted to the forum, a guide which discusses everything needed to qualify for the new achievement.

Algalon's health and damage has been adjusted. Back in the day, 10-man Ulduar dropped 226 gear. You couldn't wear higher than that. You could, however, have 232 weapons. With the item squish, that's been changed. You can't wear anything higher than item level 100. This goes for jewelry AND trinkets. We will also be needing flasks, gems, and food, when we get to the actual attack.

We will be doing an occasional gearing run between now and the end of March, when we are considering running this. I strongly recommend you scroll down to the bottom of the guide and look over the gear, gem, and consumables listing for each class and spec. Note: Some things listed are from Icecrown Citadel. We have opted not to run this on our Legacy toons. The goal was Ulduar, then Onyxia, than Icecrown because gear from Ony has a higher ilevel than ICC gear. We struggled with Ony. It's going to take either breaking the groups in half or a minimum of 18 level 80 toons in order to get her down. We simply cannot do it with 15 or 16 people in a 25-man raid. For my part, I'm going to forgo any ICC gear because I want to keep Little Gimm as she would have been during that time period.

A number of people in the guild have the achievement and have toons which they have kept at that level for just such an occasion. We welcome all guild members to come along. This truly is a mark of achievement for you. If you have any questions, please talk to myself or Tarsan.

Black Temple Timewalking

Gimmlette a posted Feb 2, 19

Oh boy oh boy! Black Temple Timewalking returns February 21st and 22nd. We got as far as Bloodboil the last time. We want to see if we can get farther. This is the perfect time to haul out of storage, all those Legion legendary gear items you got. I'll be running with Thori'dal and if you have the Warglaives of Azzinoth, bring those along. Please make sure whatever gear you bring is gemmed and enchanted as it can be. For some items, particularly, if you are going to run with a set from Burning Crusades, you can enchant way more than you can with Battle for Azeroth gear.

Please sign up. We can take at least 25 people into this raid. The more we have, the more dps we can produce and maybe we can get past Bloodboil's blood boil. If you've never saw this raid when it was current, Timewalking is as close as you can get. I think the battle above is my favorite.

If you have gear questions, you can talk to me, Tarsan, or Mizauki.
