Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. Tmog Champion

Gimmlette ao posted Apr 29, 18

The monthly transmog contest was held last Friday. The theme was "Make a tmog with Pepe". Winterlight won the contest with her witchy transmog. In order to get the right Pepe to go with her costume, she had to summon him 7 times.

If you'd like to see the rest of the entrants, you can go to the thread and scroll to page 2. Gwydion and Gimmlette were in 2nd place, with Connacher in 3rd.

Thanks to everyone who entered. The theme for May 2018 is

Tmog with a NON-SD tabard.

So You Want a Hippo

Gimmlette ao posted Apr 18, 18

Datamining by WOWHead has found a hippo mount.

This is the Vicious War Hippo. After posting this on Facebook, so many of you were "I MUST HAVE THIS MOUNT!" In talking with Minathelan, we know how you can get it. I hope you're sitting down.

Arena or Rated Battlegrounds

When the turn in to get the mount is a saddle, that's a clue this is not your run-of-the-mill mount. "Vicious" in the title is also a clue that it comes from PvP.

So, what do you need to do?

In order to get this you will have to win 40 rated battlegrounds or 100 Arena matches.

Yes, I hear your collective groan. Well, it's been the same since Mists of Pandaria, so Mina doesn't think it's going to change and WOWHead doesn't have requirements currently listed. We'll go with how you got current and Mists steeds.

We can do this but it's going to require dedication and commitment. If we want to try the rated BG route, we MUST have 10 people who will ALWAYS come (excepting real life stuff, of course) to RBG nights. If we have more than 10 people, great. We'll rotate people in and out so everyone gets a win.

If we want to go the Arena route, the most popular is 3v3. You don't NEED a healer for each team. In fact, we would not have hard teams. Everyone goes into the pot and we just pick teams based upon who shows up. A note on how we run PvP, for those of you who may have never done that with us. Your skill matters little to us. We are in this a) for a hippo, and b) for fun. You will never hear us berate, belittle, or complain about you. We don't do that.

The key here is "time committment". I am happy to put it on the schedule twice monthly. We can run it during the week as well as a weekend, for those who can't make week day events. But you HAVE to decide you are going to do this and you HAVE to commit to showing up AND to helping everyone who wants a hippo, get a hippo.

Also, if this is a thing we want to do, we will be starting as soon as the PvP season opens in Battle for Azeroth. We are not hardcore PvP'ers regardless of the guild joke. If we wait until we feel "comfortable", we will spend the entire expansion spinning our wheels. Arena and RBGs attract the kind of people who dedicate their time to that aspect of the game. They are hardcore. We're just in this to try to get a hippo.

Therefore, you need to think about this. How willing are you to dedicate the time and energy it's going to take to get this mount? You will be frustrated. You will want to quit. Some days, you just won't get a win in 90 minutes of trying. If you get your hippo and then say, "Well, that's it for me. You all have fun." I will demote you. This is a guild event and I expect people who want to participate will hang around to help their fellow guild members.

Right now, I am willing to devote two days per month to this. I want a hippo. He's got an Alliance emblem on his side. I am not a fan of Arena. I have done it, but it's not where I like to pvp. I will, however, run Arena to get a hippo.

I don't need a committment now. I need you to think about this; think hard and long. Are you willing to put in the time it's going to take to get this mount? Once we know more, it will help us plan, but, right now, it's going to be twice a month, beginning when the PvP season opens. Sign ups will be the first weekend in September.

Merril I'd do a lot of things for this mount. Questionable things. I'm terrible at PvP though. I'll do whatever ...

Here It Comes

Gimmlette ao posted Apr 5, 18

And the winner of our "Guess the Date" contest is Jorsha, who guessed August 21st. There will be goodies. Give me a couple days to assemble them. I think, with all the volume of words produced today regarding the release, MMO Champions has an exceptionally good dissection. Find their initial condensation of what's coming here

I would think, with an announced release date, the alpha will be ending soon because beta testing has to occur. This will involve stress tests and other end of testing events. If you didn't get into the alpha, watch your email for an invite to the beta. Any invitations will come to the email you use for your WOW account.

Here we go. Time to leave the Legion behind.

April's Tmog Contest

Gimmlette ao posted Apr 3, 18

March's tmog contest theme was St. Patrick's Day. We had three contestants. Edish (Hank) was the judge. He decided Perki's tmog was the best this month.

Perki will be our judge for April. The theme for this month is

A Tmog with Pepe.

A number of you have inquired as to how you get Pepe. Everyone with a garrison currently has Pepe. Where he is varies depending upon what level your garrison is. My garrison is level 3. (No, I will not take down the Christmas decorations.)

Pepe is in the tree across from the flight master. He is in trees in different areas if your garrison is a level 1 or 2. Here is a close-up of him in the tree.

To find him in level 1 or 2 garrisons, type "/tar Pepe". His location should pop up on your mini-map.

Once you find him, you need to jump up toward his location and click on him while you're in the air. If you have Draenor flying, you can just land in his tree. If you successfuly click on him, he shows up on your head. He perches for an hour or until you die, whichever is first. There's no running all over Draenor to find bosses to kill to obtain him. He's right there, in your garrison, right now.

What you are thinking of is this toy.

Having this toy allows Pepe to be summoned from anywhere. You don't need to go back to your garrison and spend 15 minutes trying to jump and click at the same time, not that I would have ANY experience in doing that. If you have the whistle, Pepe will perch on your head for an hour or until you die, same as getting him in your garrison. To get the whistle, this is the achievement you're thinking of.

You have to kill all of these bosses while Pepe perches on your head. These are world bosses, 5-man bosses, and bosses in Highmaul and Blackrock Foundry. I am 95% certain you can do the raids in LFR mode because I know some of us were running LFR to get bits for the legendary ring and we would grab our Pepes for the bosses.

ALL of these bosses can be solo'd, if you are a reasonably geared 110. Just keep tabs on how long you have left on Pepe and go back to your garrison to refresh him, if needed. Also, Drov and Tarina alternate weeks. If Drov is up, Tarina will not be, and vice versa. Rukhmar, supposedly, drops a mount, but I think Zargz got the only one.

Clear? Again, you already have Pepe in your garrison. You do not need to do this achievement to make a transmog involving Pepe. He is easiest to find in level 3 garrisons and hardest to find in level 2 garrisons. I don't know where he is in level 1 or 2 garrisons. I didn't start working on the whistle achievement until my garrison got to level 3 and he was easy to find. I think you can tag him in someone else's garrison so if you don't have a level 3, you can go to the level 3 garrison of someone and get him. Also, for those of you who have Pepe outfits, your tmog can incorporate one of Pepe's outfits.

If you have questions about obtaining Pepe, just ask. Congrats Perki. She gets your tmog list.

Zargz Rukhmar does indeed drop a mount. (A) being the key word here. I may be the only one on the server with it, perhaps even...

We tossed out the idea of the Legacy toons running Onyxia.

The guild has a long association with this raid.

The idea seemed to be well-received, but a head count has eluded us. We were going to put it on the schedule for April, but we have no idea who is coming or leveling a toon in order to come along. We need a head count to know how soon we can reasonably expect to do this raid.

Please go to this thread and sign up. (You need to be signed in to the web site to see the thread and sign up. While that might be obvious to some of us, others need a reminder.) Our goal is not a list of whether you're geared, it's a simple, "Yes, I want to come." We will handle gearing. If you are still leveling a toon with the intent of participating, we need to know that. Based on this feedback, we will make a decision on when to do the raid.

Next item is Black War Bears.

Our End of Winter Bash was a huge success. We offed Saurfang with minimal horde resistance. From Orgrimmar, we went to Thunder Bluff and, there was no resistance as we killed Baine. Quite a few people got their bears with Baine's death. A couple people needed Theron, so we headed to Silvermoon and took care of him.

We are aware, however, that a few people need one or two of the horde leaders for their bear. We need to know who still needs horde leaders and which leaders. Please sign below with your toon and which leaders you need to complete the achievement For the Alliance. Now is probably a very good time to do this. There aren't many people about and, come Battle for Azeroth, it is likely the capital cities will have more people in them than they do now. We are quite happy to run this as the bit of resistance we have to kill pads our Creepjackers total.

We don't care about the level of the toon that comes, although be forwarned. If you are less than 110 and melee, you need to have a spec and/or an attack which can be thrown at Saurfang. His whirlwind is an insta-kill and you will not get credit for him if you have not hit him. We had that problem with one guild member. So, look over your toon list and figure out which one will actually get a hit in on him. Probably level 100+ is sufficient.

Thanks for your attention to both of these requests.

Cathalii I don't have any Horde leaders downed.
