We got much closer with Ulduar than in previous attempts. Flame Leviathan, Ignis, and Razorscale were on-shots. We wiped on XT, came back, and downed him. Then...........we had a little trouble with the hallways trash in the Antechamber.
After that, Iron Council was a one-shot. Our nemesis, Kolgarm, took two tries. We crossed the "bridge of Gimm swearing", took our loot and decided to take on Auriaya -- the Cat Lady. We needed two attempts on her. That was Friday.
Saturday, we struggled with Hodir and Thorim before getting them down. We skipped Freya and tackled Mimiron but only had one shot before our time ran out.
Observations. We have the first part of Ulduar pretty secure. We have to work on clearing the Antechamber hallway trash better. That has ALWAYS killed us and it's a simple matter of remembering to pull the big adds back and keeping the casters locked down. We had EVERY CC in the game in the raid on Saturday. We should have had them so locked down they would have panicked and ran when it all broke.
We have the Iron Council down. Next time, let's try to keep Steelbreaker up last. That gets tricky because of the debuff that goes on the tank with his fusion punch. When we did it the first time, the paladin tank called out "fusion punch -- dispell", whenever he was hit by it. Amaera was charged with dispelling the punch's effects. She was also his healer and that's all she did on that fight.
If you picked up the dics to get the key for the planetarium, run it. It's fun and very interesting. I think it takes a couple weeks. It's been years since I did it so I don't completely remember.
We have to learn the Keepers now. Freya is going to take time. We won't be able to down her initially, with the trees up. That means we are going to have to clear all.the.trash. If you've never paid attention to it, there is a literal butt tonne of trash in her room. The trees aren't easy either and Freya summons add which have to be dealt with or you'll not get her down. The trio was our hardest mob pack because they have to be killed within 10 seconds of each other.
After the raid on Saturday, officers were discussing how we want to proceed. We did exceptionally well. Unfortunately, even with no wipes, 4 total hours of raiding isn't going to clear this at level. It's probably a 6 hour raid. To the left is a poll. We need to know what you think you'd like to do the next time Ulduar comes around. We need your opinion. What could you commit to? We know some of you simply cannot raid on week nights. We know some of you will show up regardless of when we decide to raid. But we need opinions. Please look through the times suggested and pick the one you like the best, even if you'll come whenever we schedule the raid.
The absolute best part of the raid was watching all the bubbles proc from Val'anyr, the healing mace. Pinkel was the first person in the guild to get it and we never raided with it when Ulduar was current content. In addition to the sheer fun to doing these bosses with my guild somewhat at level and having to figure out the mechanics of the bosses and how to survive that blasted hallway, we got to see Val'anyr proc. It was glorious. Here are some photos with bubbles.

Please let us know your thoughts on expanding this raid so we can plan for the next time it comes around.
