Spectacular Death Tabbard

Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

Some Miscellaneous Errata

By Gimmlette a - Posted Nov 21, 18

First of all, please welcome Zylo and Winter to the officer corps. Zylo will be our new 5-man officer and Winter will be handling PvP duties. Please give a warm welcome to them and an equally warm thank you to Roaranor and Minathelan for their service. I think Mina took over the reigns of PvP some 7 or 8 years ago.

Officers will be meeting on Saturday, December 1st to set the schedule for December. If there is something you would like to see on the calendar, please let one of your officers or me know. We are always interested in what you would like to run.

The guild Christmas party will be Sunday, December 16th at 8:30 in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge. We have a gift exchange where you bring a wrapped present. It can be anything but it has to be able to be wrapped. Wrapping paper will be on the front tab of the bank December 2nd, after the transmog event is done.

Speaking of tmog, it will be held Saturday, December 1st, as I'm on vacation until late on the 30th. The theme is "anti-transmog". All your gear and weapon(s) must be gray quality. Since you can't tmog gray items, you'll need to wear them. You can wear any grays you are able to, so, you plate wearers, if you want to come in a gray dress, go ahead. There are a huge number of items on the gear tab available, so please look through them and take what you need. I have to find a cloak. Some of the gray sets are quite nice looking. Perki (Pegeen) is our judge for this month's contest. She's the person you need to send your list to.

Guess what's coming in December???? I'm so excited!!!!

ULDUAR TIMEWALKING!!!!! It's already on the calendar for two days. We got as far as Bloodboil in Black Temple. These two raids are just so big that two days isn't quite enough for a complete clear if we have wipes. But Ulduar is my absolute favorite raid of all time so I'm extremely excited to be running it. Any toon, level 81 and up, is welcome to come along. Haul out your legos. I was able to put a Legion-era ring enchant on one of my Burning Crusades-era rings so, if you, like me, have a bag of era-appropriate gear, we can enchant everything. Come get tmog; maybe some achievements. Remember what it was like to run Ulduar and let's avoid the 0% wipe on Deconstructor. (Proof courtesy of Connacher. It's one of our shining moments.)

We will be doing another membership purge on December 1st. Some of you seem to be unclear on membership rules. You must participate in 2 events per month. If something has come up which prevents this, you MUST let us know. If you do not let any officer know you have real life issues, we assume you are not interested in WOW or SD and will take the steps outlined on the Membership tab above under SD Rules. You are required to know the guild rules and we spell everything out. You don't have an excuse.

One thing which has come up is from people who have said they had a real life problem and couldn't notify the guild. If you play WOW, someone in your family or friends must know this. There is a "Contact Us" button at the upper right corner. This opens a window in which you or a friend can let me know of your situation. For those of you who have not been here long, we had a guild member commit suicide. Imagine getting that note from her sister.

The point is, there is no excuse for not letting us know you have issues. I strongly urge you to keep passwords some place where family or friends can find them. I also urge you to let family and friends know you play this game, that you are in this guild, and should there be a reason you personally, cannot tell us you have an issue, someone can.

I realize this comes across as harsh. Jeeze Gimm, show a little compassion. We instutited these membership rules because people were treating SD like a storage guild; leaving a toon here and running off to play with others. SD should be your primary guild. If that's not what you want out of your gaming experience, then we're not your guild. We are not asking much of you. Show up to 2 events per month. If you can't because of real life, let us know. Simple. I care about what you're going through, but I can't care if I don't know. I assume you're off doing something else and you want our benefits without doing anything in return. Nope. Nope.

Every month, we strive for events where, if you're leveling, you can participate. That's important. If there is something you want to run, you need to tell us. If you have a toon running through Wrath content and you want a Wrath night, we can do that. If you want to run your level 60 through Molten Core, we can do that. Quite a few of us have low level toons with XP frozen. (Legacy Onyxia will return soon.) We run the stuff you wish your guild did. Making 2 events is not hard.

The "too long, didn't read" version of these paragraphs is, we provide you a way to meet your membership requirements to remain in this guild. If real life hands you a face full of dirt, it is up to YOU to get word to me or some other officer of your situation. If you don't, you can be kicked. Know the Membership Rules and if you have questions, you need to ask.

We won't be doing anything organized until next week. Have a great holiday. If you follow SD on FB, I'll be posting some vacation photos there.
