Spectacular Death Tabbard

Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

Guild Meet Up 2019

Gimmlette a posted May 31, 18

Guild Meet-ups. They take planning. Dorelei is still offering her house for a September/October meet-up this year. I won't be able to attend, but there are enough of you within proximity to Canton, Georgia, that you could have a lovely visit for a few hours some Saturday. Please contact Dorelei and make arrangements. Take lots of photos when you do get together.

If nothing happens this year, that, too, is okay. I have to take a break from organizing meet-ups and this summer is already shaping up to be crazy for me. It's also not too early to look at 2019, and Zylostout and Wendrah have come forward to suggest it's time we Americans venture north of the border. They have offered their back yard

with a pool

for the 2019 guild meet-up. They live in Goodwood, Ontario, Canada. Here's where Goodwood is in relation to Toronto.

We've been to the east coast and Florida, so why not go north?

The meet-up will be Saturday, July 6th, which takes advantage of the July 4th holiday falling on a Thursday. Canada Day is Monday, July 1st and we considered the weekend before, but I felt, with most of our members in the US, taking advantage of this holiday would be a good idea.

Big thing you need to know.

So, if you're considering coming to this meet-up, you should get documents to cross the border. I'm giving you 13 months to get things in order. If you don't know, you apply for a passport at your local post office. This link gives you all the pertinent information.

Wendrah sent me a link to a wide variety of hotels in the area. Toronto is not that far away. If a bunch of us decided to arrive on July 4th, we could plan to do something on the 5th. (There used to be this amazingly awesome bookstore in downtown Toronto, a few blocks from the tower. And YOU can go to the top of the tower. I'll keep the ground from moving.) Or people could do something on the 7th. There's plenty to occupy extra days. I haven't been to Toronto in nearly 20 years so it will be a new experience. For reference, from my house to Wen and Zylo's is a 9 hour drive. For me, who drives to Virginia once a year, that's a piece of cake.

Therefore, put this on your calendar for next year. Get your travel documents now, and, we'll make more plans in May and June of next year, as the date gets closer.

Questions? Just ask.

"Caption This" contest winners:

First place - Connacher "I Told you using the RJ353 dash kw stroke 4 dash 3 point 5 triple-bock-teleport-ratchet converter to transport the prisioner to the execution wouldn't work! Now everyone look sharp, he'll probably blip back in for a split second, or maybe explode, or maybe blip in, then explode - NORA! Where are you going?? -- get back in line!"

Second place - a tie between Argyll "I'm telling you, it came through the wall...."  and Souvlaki "Gnome hunters waiting for their pets to come back with everything they aggro'd."

Third place - Jorsha "Aim for their knees!"

Everyone will get some scratch and something from the off-site prize stash.

Next item. Have you been to the guild vendor in any capital city? The vendor sells all sorts of things from pets and mounts to the Guild Herald

and the Guild Page.

If you find yourself in a dungeon where you can't mount and don't have Katy Stampwhistle, these two "pets" are vendors. You'll find them in your battle pet area. The Page has an 8 hour cooldown, while the Herald's cooldown is "only" 4 hours. Those of us who will be soloing older raids for drops for the bank will find these invaluable.

The Guild Vendor also sells cloaks which act as a hearthstone to Stormwind. There are guild shirts, which I think are pricey, but if you're looking for that shirt achievement, they count toward it.

Swing by the vendor and see what they have to sell.

Bankity Bank Bank

Gimmlette a posted May 27, 18

As the days draw closer (You can watch the countdown timer to the left. I can be kind of mesermizing.) to the arrival of Battle for Azeroth, your officers and I are reviewing the bank; what we need to leave; what we anticipate needing space for; etc. Expect to see changes in tabs as we prepare for new materials in BfA.

In the meantime, we're going to do something fun with the gear tab. Here is it's current incarnation.

On May 31st, everything excepting the card decks will be removed and put in the Auction House. What doesn't sell will be disenchanted. On June 1st, the tab opens up for you to put any gear from Classic WOW. This is level 1-60. I'd like to see a lot of crafted items, but run old content and drop some greens and blues on the tab.

On June 14th, anything left on the tab, and this includes the card decks, will be removed and the tab opened up for Burning Crusades gear. BC gear will be on the tab from June 15th to June 30th.

This is followed by Wrath of the Lich King gear, running from July 1st to July 15th. On July 16th, we'll shift to Cataclysm gear, ending July 31st. August 1st, Mists of Pandaria gear shows up, with Warlords of Draenor gear coming on August 16th. On September 1st, all gear is removed and the tab is available for any gear drops you want to donate.

The purpose is to feed our transmog addict---, um, intrest, yes "intrest". Maybe you get a drop you know, but someone else might not know it. We have a dedicated group of Tmoggers, and a nice following of people who come out to see what they have created. I can't always find the time to run everything, but I'll be running some raids and dungeons in each of the expansions as well as working on crafted gear in the hopes I find or make something you don't already know. The tab will be open to everyone to take things they don't know. Feel free. Consider this a great SD garage sale.

Don't worry about putting things in the proper columns. If you'd like to, the columns are 2 each for, left to right, cloth, leather, mail, plate, shields, cloaks, and weapons. No jewelry please. We never transmog that. If you are unsure, you can send your donations to Specdeathbk or our banker, Amaera, and we'll see they get put on the right column.

Have fun. As several people will tell you, Gimm got "kilts" while running Wrath Timewalking dungeons. Those are not "kilts" Blizzard. These are kilts.

(This is my clan. That's Thompson Gray on the left and Thompson Blue on the right. I'm partial to the gray.)

What dropped from those dungeons was nothing as stately and distinctive as these. They were fugly and...hm.... Maybe we need a tmog where you find the ugliest piece you have an build your tmog around that. :::scribbles down this idea:::

So that's the goal as we move through summer. We'll be updating the tabs on the bank to reflect changes coming in BfA. We'll also be taking donations of crafted and dropped gear to give transmoggers a chance to collect that one extra special piece. If you need materials to craft something, please let the guild know. I know a lot of people have stuff on alts and are happy to provide crafting materials.

Now, to go through Epicurian's tailoring recipes.

June Scheduled Events

Gimmlette a posted May 25, 18

Wait...when did it get to be June? I am so not ready for summer. Half of a year has evaporated.

Anyway, there are some things already on the June calendar. The officers are going to meet Monday, June 4 to finish filling in the schedule. As always, if there is something you'd like to run, or need to have run, please let me or Tarsan or Mizauki know.

Also, please take a look at your achievements. If you are into collecting achievements or mounts (There is an achievement coming in BfA for collecting 400 mounts. /sigh Oondasta! Just drop it already!), "Glory of the [insert expac] Hero" are reasonably easy for us to help you get. Dungeon achievements can be obtained during Timewalking events, too, and some of them need a group of people to accomplish. (Looking at you "Share the Love" from GunDrak.) There is a poll to the left where you can indicate interest in getting achievements from the various 5-mans. If you still need Legion dungeon achievements, let us know. Roar is not available, due to something called a wed-ding, until the middle of the month, but enough of us have done these to be able to shepherd people through them.

The thinking is the pre-BfA events will start in July. Man, we are 2 months from Battle arriving. There's a poll for that, too. Click on the "next poll" at the lower right of the current poll. This means the Mage Tower artifact achievement will be going away. You have a month, probably.

Balance of Power; that unforgivingly long quest chain. We have Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold events for both June and July scheduled. We have been asked to add more Antorus raids to the schedule. Thankfully, mythic +15 achievement is not going away and it's been requested we add 2 nights, back-to-back, to the schedule so we can try for this.

I am loathe to add too much to the schedule. I could pack something every single day. Seriously, there's enough content, both old and new, that people have indicated they want, that we could be doing some organized event every day of the month. How fast do you burn out? Frankly, I don't want to know. We already have attrition in the ranks because people are taking breaks. Add vacations and the general flow of life, and it's insane to think of having something every day. So, some things aren't going to get done. We plan off days into every week so you have the chance to do your own thing.

HOWEVER, there are things on the schedule you need to know about. June 1 and 2 are Balance of Power days. The monthly transmog event is June 29th. Two very important events, pushed back from other months, will occur in June.

Friday, June 15th, Deathtacular is running Hellfire Citadel. Friday is not a usual horde day so I'm drawing your attention to it now. We have people who have requested a Friday night horde raid. We also don't have the achievement for Hellfire so we need to get that. We need a bunch of people for the achievement. You must be level 100 to go.

Saturday, June 16th, Legacy Onyxia.

That's right. The Legacy group is going after the purple mosquito. You can only participate if you have a toon whose XP is frozen at 80. We will try to get people geared, but, frankly, there's not been much interest in the runs of Trial of the Champions. Ulduar gear is okay, but you should be taking advantage of the ToC runs. The gear is so much better. There is time to level a toon. I'm going to say this up front. I don't care what you level. We have all classes covered. Level something you like. Please don't ask me. I'm tired of repeating this. You should know by now. I will say that if you are leveling a straight tank, we have tanks. Make sure you can dps if you are not chosen to tank. This requires 2 tanks and 3+ healers depending upon group size. With the number of people indicating interest, we will have to run this on 25-man.

So, mark your calendar for Saturday, June 16th. We'll meet outside her lair at 8:45. We will need gems, enchants, flasks, and food. I list will be posted next week. Eventually, the Legacy group will head into Icecrown Citadel, to see that close to how it was released, but that's not until, probably October or November. And if you are not playing your Legacy toons outside of when we do content, we have a storage guild specifically for toons like this. Ask me to add your little-played toons to that guild.

This is a heads-up. More information and a new schedule will be added the first week of June. Battle for Azeroth is on the horizon. We just need to muck about and finish up some things to be ready.

Delrin I have locked my XP. Looking forward to this. Need to work on gear... Badly
Jaxdia Moar whelps! Handle it!
Souvlaki I have set myself a calendar reminder for the 16th called "Onyxia Wipe" :)
