Hey everyone. It's time for the annual Spectacular Death Christmas party. Every year, right around our December 15th anniversary, we meet in Ironforge for a Christmas party. We meet in the Hall of Explorers under the tree. This year's party will be Sunday, December 16th.
Everyone who comes to the party MUST bring a wrapped present. The item can be anything from 105 pound redgill to purple quality gear. Whatever it is, it must be wrapped. Wrapping paper will be on tab #1. Stacks of items currently cannot be wrapped, but battle pets or bags can.
We will meet at 8:30 pm server time. This is ONE HALF HOUR EARLIER than our usual event time. Please make a note of it. If, for some reason, you cannot make it on time, please let myself or an officer know. We will exchange gifts at this time. If you need the caroling achievement, A-Caroling We Will Go, or any of the other Winter Veil achievements, we can help get those after the party. Be advised that if you need caroling, you may have to do it on a low level toon so you can go to Undercity. The party takes, roughly, 30 minutes. You'll need to be on Discord to hear instructions.
At the end of the party, I will announce the winner(s) of our anniversary "Where in the World" contest. I did this kind of contest several years ago using Ironforge as the location. This time, it's Stormwind. There are 20 photos taken around Stormwind. Your task is to identify where they were taken. For example, let's take this one.
It's not in the contest so I can use it as an example. You can say, "basket of apples". You're not wrong, but that's not anything to go on. I need to know where this basket of apples is. "Basket of apples - mage district" is also not wrong, but, again, more information please. "Basket of apples by the cooking daily quest giver near the Stockades" is perfect. If you want to give me the trainer's name or some other identifying description, that's also perfect. I'm warning you right now, some of these are tricky. "Oh! I KNOW where that is." Maybe you do. Maybe you don't. There is a slight pattern to the screenshots and once you figure out the pattern, it might get easier to find the locations. Another hint, NOTHING is from flying. Every screenshot is from running around. You will probably have to go into some buildings, but there are no parapet screenshots so any level can participate in the contest.
Contest starts now and runs to 8 pm on Sunday, December 16th. The winner(s) will be the people who have identified correctly, the most locations. Talk amongst yourselves. Fan out in groups. Hunt these places down. You have a whole week to figure out where in the world are the screenshots. I have no more hints and I won't be discussing this contest with anyone. You can play even if you can't attend the Christmas party. If you aren't at the party, you'll still win if you get the most locations right. Yes, there's gold and a bunch of stuff from our contest stash awaiting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Ready? Set. Search.
If you do have questions about what constitutes a good Christmas party item, I'm happy to address that question. Happy hunting and shopping.
