Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

Before the Terrapin 500, we had August's transmog contest. The theme was "Pick a battle pet and make a tmog around it". You can see all the transmogs here. The winners this month were Jorsha in 3rd place; Souvlaki, and her impression of Sylvanas, in 2nd place; and a tie for first place between Lianth and Gimmlette.

Lianth (Jaxdia) and her Darkmoon Faire zeppelin.

Gimmlette and her Nightmare Whelpling.

Next month's theme is:  Terrible Fall/Autumn Transmogs. Because I'm a judge, I want to see "terrible", "terribad", "awful", "make my eyes bleed" transmogs.

While out trying to find pieces for my August transmog, I found myself in some of the older dungeons and raids. If you are dedicated to transmogs, and the recently concluded "Trial of Style" pointed a lot of people in the direction of transmog, you are almost always on a mission to find more pieces with the comment, "You have not collected this appearance". A lot of us are running older content looking for mounts or gear and we're getting gear which we may already know the appearance of or which isn't something we can wear. Maybe, however, it's useful to someone else in the guild also interested in transmog.

So, I came up with this idea which we'll use for the whole month of September. This is the current state of our gear tab, tab 4.

Wait. Everything is gone! It is. All the stuff on here has either been sold or stored away for later use.

What you're going to do is use this tab to dump all your unwanted OLDER gear on this tab. Only gear, Warlords of Draenor or older, goes on this tab. You may stick gear, shields, cloaks, and weapons on this tab. Quality doesn't matter. Once we get a few donations, we'll straighten up the tabs so you can better find things. Also, if you want to craft older gear because you can, you are most welcome to. If you need materials to craft, just ask. We have a lot of "hoarders" in the guild and chances are extremely good someone has what you need.

If you see something you don't know, grab it and learn it. Depending upon the amount of donations, we will be refreshing stock once a week or every other week. Things donated but not claimed will be sold, either in the AH or vendored, and the monies added to the bank.

This is a great way for those of you who stockpile gear thinking it might be useful to someone, to get rid of it. All those runs of Ulduar and ICC and Blackwing Lair and Tempest Keep and Mogu'shan Vault will prove fruitful for someone. Everyone, including our new members, will have access to this tab. Who knows what fantastic stuff people have or find or create. With Hallow's End coming and *cough* probably another Halloween costume transmog event upcoming, you're sure to want more looks.

If you've got questions about how this will work, just ask. You can start putting gear into the emptied tab now. On October 1st, all will be removed and we'll go back to current content gear and the help items we have for lower level toons. I'm excited to see what you all stumble across. Remember, Warlords of Draenor and earlier content and feel free to add in crafted gear.

This will be fun.

Souvlaki Finally, a place to put my 20 Rainsongs!

August 29th.

And

The winners of the green Core Hound mount are Zargz and Souvlaki who nailed the date. Since it was Zargz who donated the mount, take to me, Souv, to pick yours up. Comparable prizes will be awarded if you both have this mount.

I don't know about you, but I am prepared. I still don't trust Illidan as far as I can spit. What are your thoughts? Is there a patch 7.4 upcoming? Where will we go next? I expect the next expansion will be announced at BlizzCon.

Souvlaki I have a Steelbound Devourer. :)

The 8th Annual Terrapin 500 is nearly upon us. Are you ready?

In conjunction with the transmog contest, we'll be making a full evening of excitment.

The Transmog Contest starts at 8:30 pm in our usual place in Stormwind. Please note:  this is one-half hour earlier than usual. The theme of this month's contest is to pick a battle pet and make a transmog around that pet. Last month's co-winner, Mizauki, will be the judge. Winterlight is unable to attend.

Once the contest is over, we will head to Ironforge for the race. Remember the ONLY mount allowed is the Sea Turtle. There's still time to get lucky and fish this up from pools in Wrath, Cata and Mists zones. You can also get it from fishing quest bags in Cata. If you'd like to have a bit more luck, I'm happy to invite you into my garrison on Draenor for a chance to fish it up there. Miz will be our announcer again this year. I could use someone to take screenshots. Even if you can't ride, please come to Ironforge and cheer on the racers. It means a lot to us to see guild members on the bank steps, cheering as we race past. It's a half hour of your time. The race begins at 9 pm. Racers who come in costume get 75 gold. First place gets 200 gold. Second place gets 150 gold. Third place gets 100 gold. I hope you like milk because you gotta drink a glass after you win.

When we are done in Ironforge, we'll head to OLD Dalaran and race around it. If you'd like to bring your horde toon, you are welcome to do so. Again, if your horde comes in costume, you get 75 gold. Prize money is the same for the Dalaran race. From there, we're heading to NEW Dalaran and racing around the city. This year, we won't have to contend with demons attacking the city. Everything should be done by 10:30 pm.

This is always one of our best guild-wide events. We can do summons for players who haven't, yet, discovered Dalaran so you can cheer on guild members. Make your plans. Bring your popcorn and beer. See you Saturday.

The Eclipse

Gimmlette a posted Aug 19, 17

I found a photo from the penumbral eclipse of May 1994.

I have always liked how the leaves on the tree acted as an eclipse box and you can see the progression of the moon across the sun.

I've started a thread in the forum for your eclipse photos. We have guild members from Washington to Virginia and I know a few of you had relatives going to the path. I am so very excited to see what photos we all get. I'm asking for three; start, middle, end; but you're welcome to post as many as you like. And if you only take one, that's wonderful, too.

Remember not to look directly at the sun. Finding eclipse glasses might be difficult, but check with local libraries. Mine will be giving them out once they open on Monday, until they are gone.

It would be cool if there was some tie-in with WOW, but this is more "WOW" than a game. I hope it's clear where you are.

A Skewered Miz Special

Gimmlette a posted Aug 13, 17

We had our August "Miz Special" last night.

We met in Stormwind, in front of the Cathedral, while Miz announced the winners of the "Send your grays to Miz" contest.

First of all, Miz received over 6,000 grays. It took her hours to clean out her bank and to tally up the results.

Second, we sent enough grays to add 4,000 gold to the guild bank. Nillen matched that and Gizmo decided to double it. Thanks, everyone, for cleaning out your banks, and for not automatically vendoring all those shimmering scales and fangs and talons and gear.

Third, points were awarded for each gray. Stacks of the same thing, were awarded 1 point. Gear was awarded 2 points. Unique items or items with interesting flavor text were awarded 3 points.

In third place, with 1,207 points - Tarsan.

In second place, with 1,936 points - Gimm.

And in first place, with 2,418 points - Gizmo. (Miz said, "So many iceweb spider claws.")

Gizmo received a toy for coming in first.

Afterward, we all got drunk, flew as high as we possibly could over the cathedral, and dismounted. It's been a long time since we did a "Stick the landing, with an emphasis on 'stick'" event. Some of you who attended the Miz Special event had never had the opportunity to skewer yourself on the Stormwind Cathedral.

Musashi got himself on the point so there was a bigger target for people to find. I know, in the pile, there's Syfi, Gizmo, Miz and Darq. I don't think anyone else was able to 'stick the landing'. Thanks to Zylo who did a lot of mass rezzing.

In case you haven't looked up, Argus is now in the sky everywhere, for everyone. Prior to last Tuesday, you had to have killed Kil'jaden in Tomb to see the planet. Now everyone can.

I thought it would be cool to collect screenshots from all over the world, of Argus in the sky. I've started taking them and you'll find my shots and the thread at this link. If the link is not working for you, make sure you're logged into the web site. You can also navigate to it by either the title in the box to the right or going to "Forum -> Guild History -> Legion -> Oh Look. There's Argus". You will need to upload your photos to a photo sharing site first and then post the link from that site in the pop up box when you click on the picture in the tools. Remember to list where you are because the angle of Argus doesn't always allow for identifying features from the surroundings.

Thank you, Miz, for a most delightful event. Jax is already champing at the bit for next month.
