Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

Legacy Leveling

Gimmlette a posted Mar 28, 17

This coming Saturday, in addition to whatever silliness Blizzard plans to perpetrate on us, we will devote time to our Legacy toons. If you haven't looked at the schedule, you should do so. We have added a Legacy Karazhan run to April.

Now, some words about this event. First of all, I'm rather dismayed by how few people have let us know they are leveling a Legacy toon and would like to be included in the event. I know I've seen more people than the, approximate, 10 I know of, online leveling. After discussing this with officers, we are instituting the following policy regarding the Karazhan run.

If you have not signed up here, you are not going. In addition, you MUST sign up with what class you are intending to play. There is no, "I can do anything." This does not help us plan.

We will need 2 tanks; 3 healers and 5 dps. I feel we have way more people leveling than we know about and could be close to 2 groups. If you are leveling in order to tank or heal, we need to know. If you are leveling pure dps, even if you are confident you can do anything, we need to know. Sorry, but "I can do anything" just confuses everything. Once we see who is signed up here, we can ask, but until that time, we must know your class. I am leveling Gaussette as a tank. If we have 4 tanks, we will make the decision about my switching to dps, but, right now, I am a tank. That's what I've signed up as.

Got it?

Sorry to be a bear about this, but we must know if we can run two groups or if we need to alternate so everyone can see the raid, and people are not responding to entreaties. Remember, if you have not signed up HERE, regardless of your signing up in game, you will not go.

If you have questions, Mizauki, Roaranor and I have answers.

Here We Go

Gimmlette a posted Mar 27, 17

The patch drops tomorrow.

Here are some things to remember to make the day go well.

All your add-ons will be out-of-date and although designers are usually quick about updating them, some may take awhile. Be patient and check your add-on site(s) frequently.

It's going to be madness on The Broken Shore. As much as they have stress tested everything, I expect lag, disconnects and outright server problems. If you get frustrated, log off and read a book. I can recommend quite a number of great books. You don't have to be first through content. You do have to be patient (There's that word again.). As someone who has lived through a number of errant patches, I may wander off and do my fail mount raids. I might even get a chance to kill the Sha in Kun-Lai because everyone else will be at The Broken Shore. Working on Legacy toons would be another effective way to utilize your time and will be infinitely less stressful, excepting the drop rate on gathering quests. (I so hope an update to Outlands is in the cards.)

The official patch notes can be found here. https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20629899/world-of-warcraft-7-2-the-tomb-of-sargeras-patch-notes

Blizzard has a good write up of what we'll be doing here. https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20602168

There are a lot of quality of life improvements coming. I'm not sure what I'm most excited for out of the patch. The easiest thing to say is the addition of sets to the transmog screen, but there are so many more things which will make the game that much better and more fun.

It's called the largest content patch Blizzard has ever released. There are bound to be things which will break or don't work as intended. Expect lots of hotfixes over the next couple of weeks as things get sorted out. If you're going to fight a world boss, a call-out in guild chat would be appreciated. Please stop worrying that you're falling behind. There are catch-up mechanisms in this patch and remember, it's not a race. Meander at your own pace. Help each other. We'll all get there and we'll have fun doing it.

Gimmlette a That bird was beautiful. I'd do a 20 quest + gather 800 things to get it.
Souvlaki ...and we all want that bird as a mount. :/

You might have seen some posts about the need for herbs for our spirit cauldrons for when we raid. While we, technically, don't allow math in this guild, I thought I'd show you why cauldrons are such a pain.

This is what we have stored on my bank alt. I use the orange ones, Flasks of the Seventh Demon, so I keep guild flasks here to prevent mix-up.

To make the cauldron, I currently need, because I don't know the level 3 cauldron yet, 5 of each flask.

You can see how many of each flask I can make, but keep in mind, each time I make a flask, all the numbers go down. The issue is the sheer amount of herbs needed, even when you are at level 3, to make flasks. I need 7 Starlight Roses per flask. Countless Armies and Seventh Demon share foxflower and fjarnskaggl. I'm always short of those, too. Aethril and Dreamleaf tend to fluctuate, but right now, I have a lot of each of those.

So, let's do some math. I have 30 flasks. It takes 5 flasks each to make a cauldron. I can make 6 cauldrons. We go through 2 cauldrons a raid. That means I have enough flasks for 3 raids. We are going to be raiding every week in April. I have enough flasks for Friday's raid and half of April.

One thing I can't predict is proc's. I tend to make flasks in groups of 5 because it's easier to see where we are with regards to cauldrons. But 10,000 Stars and Whispered Pact seem to have high proc rates, at least for me. I don't have level 3 Armies, which I don't understand because I've made it as much as I've made the others. Demon doesn't proc as much for me, but when it does, I average 4 flasks from one batch of herbs. This is why the bank toon has 32 Demons and 30 of the others. I always grumble when this happens. I also do, once a day, when I'm on, a transmute of cloth to herbs. I was doing fish to gems for some people to have raw gems but we kind of need to have flasks right now. The Wild Transmutation will sometimes reward me with a lot of herbs so I do that every day.

So, let's say you'd like to help but you don't have an alchemist or an herbalist. If you have a lot of Blood of Sargeras, you're in luck. Head to the corner of the Trade District, by the blacksmith, and look for the demon hunter. She sells herbs, among other things.

If you are looking for almost any raw material, she has it. It just takes a blood of sargeras to purchase. I can come by those fairly easily so I'm not worried that, in using my blood to buy herbs, I won't have any for the cauldrons.

I hope this explains why, lately, I've been asking for herbs. It just takes so friggin' many to keep us in cauldrons. If you are an alchemist and would like to contribute, send flasks to me and I'll add them to the stash. Herbs can either be sent to me or added to tab two of the bank. We seem to be doing very well in our meander through current content so we've decided to continue that. Therefore, we'll need flasks for raiding. If you're looking for a way to be invaluable to the guild, this is a good way.

Thanks in advance.

Gotta Up Our Game, Miz

Gimmlette a posted Mar 25, 17

The transmog contest was held on Friday night. The theme for March was "St. Patrick's Day". Winterlight was the judge, having won February's Valentine's Day themed contest.

In first place is Silverkeg.

This is the second time Vik has won. In second place is Jaxdia, who called herself the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

In third place is Darthmoose, who entered on the spur of the moment.

For all the transmogs, check the thread

The next contest is Friday, April 25th. The theme is "Dress With Pepe".

You'll need a Pepe to participate. He does not have to be in costume. I have the Trans-dimensional Bird Whistle which summons Pepe to perch on my head for an hour. You get the whistle by completing the achievement, "What a Strange, Internimensional Trip It's Been". You have to kill a wide variety of Draenor bosses while having Pepe on your head.

To help people work toward that achievement, we ran Blackrock Foundry on normal after the event.

You have to do the entire raid while Pepe sits on your head. Fortunately, in normal mode, we can affect a clear in a bit over an hour. We can easily clear the 5-mans without needing a healer, tank and 3 dps. If you would like to get the whistle, let me know. There will be a lot to do in the next few weeks, but we can squeeze in a Highmaul run or chain run dungeons. The world bosses are easy with a group of 5. Someone other than Zargz needs to get the mount off Ruhkmar. (Jealousy rising.)

There is a twist to next month's contest. Vik has asked that you come up with a story about your costume. Remember to send him a list of your transmog.

Congratulations to the winners. See you in April.
