Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

Design Away!

Gimmlette a posted Nov 29, 16

Just a reminder that the "Design the Guild Tabard" contest ends on Sunday.

Head to the Contest forum and follow the instructions to design a tabard for our 9th anniversary. (This is NOT my entry, but I'm calling it " A knock off of Deathtacular's awesome tabard".) And just a note:  you need to log into the web site to see the contest forum. As Gavix pointed out, there's so much awesome stuff available when you're not logged in that you can be lulled into believing the forum thread doesn't exist. Log in and be amazed at what you can now see.

Come Monday, December 5th, you will be voting on which tabard you like best. The winner(s) will get their tabard as our guild tabard for one week, beginning Tuesday, December 12th. Plus, they will be promoted to our new "Contest Winners" rank. Because people have been very generous to our prize kitty, I'm upping the prize money.

1st place:  650 gold

2nd place: 550 gold

3rd place:  350 gold

There are quite a few to choose from already. Where's your design?

And There Was A Tie

Gimmlette a posted Nov 20, 16

Saturday was the November transmog contest. The theme was "Thanksgiving/Birds". Miasera and I were the only two entrants.

The helm, because we know you're going to ask, is a drop from Zul'Aman.

That's a sandpiper pet. The staff is Origin of Nightmares and drops off Gluth in Naxxramas. Miz pointed out that I am wearing less clothing than she is. We won't comment on the pants.

Minaithelan was the judge for this contest, owing to his remarkable transmog from last month. He said it was very, very hard to pick a winner. "I've decided it's a tie between the 'Buzzard Queen' and Gimm's representation of 'Turduckin'."

What this means is that Miz and I will be the judges for the December contest. Our theme for December, in honor of our 9th anniversary, is a transmog which complements the guild tabard. That calls to mind the "Design the Tabard" contest we have going on right now. The tabard you have to complement is our current tabard.

(Remember the boat shoulders, hunters? And full health was 18,780. Yes, I am wearing my fishing hat.) The contest judging will take place in Stormwind on Friday, December 30th at 9 pm. We will be looking for transmogs which match the theme. This one is not see how hideous you can make your transmog. This one is to make it go well with the tabard. You'll be asked to put on and take off your tabard so we can judge.

Miz and I win 2,000 gold for our efforts. We've had another donation to the transmog prize pool so we're going to add more money. Beginning in December, first place will be 3,000 gold. Second place will be 2600 gold and third place will be 2200 gold. Participants who fullfill the rules of the contest get 1000 gold just for showing up. You must transmog everything, excepting jewelry and trinkets, including a weapon. You do not need to have a matching pet. It doesn't get you extra points, but it is cool. You need to send either Miz or myself an in-game letter with your list of transmog. The first place winner(s) will be moved into our 3rd rank which we are dedicating to all contest winners.

So, you've got 6 weeks to work on the perfect transmog. As always, if you need something crafted, ask in chat. We probably have people who can make it and we possibly have the materials stored off site. If you've got questions, you can talk to Roaranor or me.

Souvlaki Prior to last night I had never seen that helm, and considering where it's from that comes as no surprise.

If you've been put off entering the transmog contest because the cost of transmog is quite high, have we got an announcement for you.

Thanks a very generous guild member, we are able to up the gold awarded to people who participate.

First place will now net you 2,000 gold. You read that correctly.

Second place will reward 1700 gold.

Third place will reward 1400 gold

All participants will get 600 gold provided they follow the contest rules. This means, you need to have all your gear, excepting jewelry and trinkets transmogged AND a letter listing your transmogs needs to be sent to the person judging the contest. Minaithelan, by virtue of his 'lovely' transmog from Halloween, is our judge for this one.

The theme for this month's contest is Thanksgiving/Birds. You can enter pretending to be cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, a pilgrim or some representation of a bird. There's a lot of leeway in what you can transmog. If you're looking for a specific piece of gear, ask in chat. If it's crafted, someone can probably make it. If it's a drop, who knows. Souvlaki and Vik have tons of stuff in their banks. We will meet again in Stormwind on Saturday at 9 pm. If you are not participating, you are welcome to come oogle the gear. The next contest will be announced on Sunday. You'll have a bit longer to accumulate a transmog for it.

As an added bonus, we have this guild rank we haven't utilized. It's rank #3. We've decided to use it for contest winners beginning with the transmog contest. If you win, and ties can happen, the toon you've entered in the transmog contest will be promoted to our new contest rank, where it will remain for a month. You will be the envy of all your friends. From now on, whenever we run a contest, winners will have a toon moved into this special rank.

Just a reminder, on Friday, we're going back after an undead dragon.

We're going to start Emerald Nightmare from the beginning to give people a shot at gear upgrades. I want to remind people that you need to be gemmed and enchanted. There is no, "But I'm just going to replace this". It's part of being a good raider.

That being said, if you look at our gems and enchants tabs, we have nothing current. I realize there is frustration with how the leveling process is going due to needing dungeons and lots and lots and lots of materials. So those people who can cut gems and make enchants are seeing their supply of mats dwindle for no gain to skill level. Still, I have always taken a lot of pride in our ability to be self-sufficient here. If you can cut gems or make enchants, please put those in the bank or offer your services in chat. If you can donate materials so we have what we need, please stick those in the bank. The gem tab has dust collecting on the shelves so feel free to stuff things there and we can move items to the appropriate tab. Thank you in advance.

If you have questions about the transmog contest, please ask myself or Roaranor.

Tmog and Other Things

Gimmlette a posted Nov 13, 16

How's your Thanksgiving tmog coming along?

I have my staff and my outfit. How is yours coming along? This Saturday, we will meet up in Stormwind, in the same location, the keep, where the lighting is good, for judging on the contest. If you need suggestions on what to do, you don't need to be a bird. You could be the representation of cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, or pecan pie. That ought to help you come up with a Thanksgiving-worthy transmog. The gear which you can buy from the vendor during the Thanksgiving festival is not transmoggable, so you won't be able to use those, except for the pilgrim's hat. That is transmoggable. I've often run around wearing that. If you need gear crafted, just speak up. We can get it for you. Contest starts at 9. Mina will be our judge as he won the contest last month. Once again, first place is 500 gold. Second place is 300 gold and first place is 100 gold.

This week, we have fun events planned. On Tuesday, we'll be in Siege of Orgrimmar. We're going to be doing this naked. You'll wear whatever you pick up in the raid. We'll allow trinkets and jewelry. Have a weapon in your bag just in case we need you to utilize attacks which rely upon weapons.

Wednesday, we're doing Legion 5-mans. Roar needs to know what you have in your quest log that needs completion.

On Friday, we'll be in Emerald Nightmare. Any 110 with an ilevel of 790 can come. We've decided to start over with Nythendra, the dragon, to get more people gear.

Don't forget the "Create a Guild Tabard Contest". Two people have posted ideas. I'm sure a lot of you have ideas. Make sure you get your tabard suggestions to the forum.

To the left, you will see a poll. We are gauging the interest in starting up the Legacy raiding we were doing at the beginning of the year. We would want people to have a level 60 with gear up to ilevel 70. If you still have your level 60 from when we did this before and have gear from Blackwing Lair, you don't have to change out your gear. Having cleared Molten Core and started on Blackwing Lair, we know we need at least 18 people to be successful.

We need to know if we should add a Legacy raid to the schedule again. We had a lot of fun. One of the things we take a lot of pride in is seeing all content and the goal of Legacy raiding was to see the content as close to how it was designed. If you want to bring a level 65+, that toon has to be naked, completely naked; no trinkets or jewelry. Ask Vik how that went. In all his naked glory, he killed a boss for us. It was hilarious.

If you have questions about Legacy raiding, please ask myself or Roar. And please sign up in the comment section if you are interested or still have your level 60 and would like to be included in the group.
