Spectacular News

Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from classic to current content, PvP and arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer together. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines as well.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

for more hijinks and fun.

Wednesday, a few of us; Finnighan, Tarsan, Totorodoo, Slugslinger and myself; hopped on our horde to partake of Brewfest from the horde point of view. I don't know how they feel about it, but Alliance has a much better party. It's kind of odd to see goblins with dwarf masks and to hear the sounds of a dwarven festival in the desert in front of Orgrimmar. It even seems odd to have pink elekks in front of horde cities.

Thunder Bluff

and Silvermoon.

I can say I have experienced Brewfest from both sides, got as many achievements on the cow as I'm inclined to do. It's just not the same. I'd wager, however, that if you play horde like we play Alliance, you'd find Brewfest on the Alliance side as odd as we find it on the horde side.

For those interested, this is the video I made of the initial beer run on the horde side. This is the quest where you fetch 3 kegs. After you do this, you've opened up the daily. This is very confusing because the goblin tells you the guy with the kegs is on the road to Razor Hill and he's not. He's straight east of the Brewfest tents, in the area where a tower for the zeppelin used to be. I had to fail this the first time before I found the guy the second time.

Our last Brewfest event will be getting drunk and dancing in Dalaran. I plan on doing that on Sunday after the guild meeting. Of course you'll want to be there to laugh.

Ogodei but but I still haven't gotten all my bewfest outfit collection finished....though I haven't really been hitti...

Update and a Movie

It's time, once again, to nominate someone for Guild Member of the Month. I will take nominations through Monday, October 3rd, owing to the lateness of letting you know and the guild meeting upcoming. (You're trying to clear your schedule for that, right?) I just need an in-game letter telling me who and why you're nominating them. The only person not eligible is Nounours.

I'm also working on the October schedule. If there is something you want to run, please let me know. Also, if you have a preferred time you'd like to run this, let me know, as well. I can't guarantee your time will work, depending upon if someone else has claimed those dates. We are busy Sunday, October 16th as we will be doing another Halaa Battle Token night.

Firelands ends the month on Friday and Saturday. The in-game calendar does not have Friday's raid on it. You are forgiven if you've made plans. We know, in 2 1/2 hours, we can clear almost all the trash so if we only run one night, that's fine.

Here's the tally of things we're working on:
Repairs                                       29,643 of 50,000
Guild Challenges                       94 of 100   We will have this achievement this weekend just from running the Brewfest boss.
Dailies                                       25,821 of 30,000
Horde Killing                            97,261 of 100,000
Flasks                                        973 of 1,000
Glyphs                                      1,192 of 2,500
Placing Feasts                           727 of 1,500
Gems                                        1,028 of 2,500
Crafting i359 items                  104 of 500
Fishing from pools                   12,398 of 25,000

When I look back at the beginning of the year and how long our list was of things to do, we've done quite well for ourselves. We'll get one achievement for sure this weekend.

Finally, I leave you with a guild run, one that qualified as a challenge. Squidchin tanked, Hercules healed, Rolandgilead, Helgahoney and myself with Placido, provided dps.

ojiikun Flasks . . . SO CLOSE! (I made a sad 2 or 3 the other night. )

There will be an all-Guild meeting on Sunday, October 2nd at 8 p.m. I have a major announcement to make. Please meet in Ironforge in the Great Forge area.

Your presence is strongly encouraged. For those of you sharing a computer with someone in your household, please have that person be near you during the announcement.

It is very important that as many people as possible be in attendance. I know some of you cannot, due to work or family events. You will need to speak to me privately. I can't stress enough how important it is that as many guild members as possible be online next Sunday at 8 p.m. Being in Mumble would also be a very good idea.

Thank you.

Ogodei LOL, my wife hates being surprised...if I tell her I've got something for her birthday already she immediately want...
Huff I'll make sure to be there.
Wildhermit Not to mention... Most surprises are usually the bad kind

AQ is a Little Buggy

Gimmlette a posted Sep 24, 11

I couldn't resist. Everyone who needed a bug mount got all three colors; yellow, blue and green. Stormbrow already had the red one. We didn't see a red bug drop but there were ample of the other colors. Pinkel, Finnighan, Hercules, Starrefyre, Amaranthaear, Slugslinger, and Totorodoo rounded out the group. If you are interested in adding to your stable; gratz on the mount achievement Pinkel; speak up. AQ 40 took us a little over an hour and a half to clear. Maybe you'll get the rare red one.

If you want to get the tier 2.5 armor set that drops in here, you will be needing scarabs and idols. We have a huge amount stored off site. Just send me a list of what you need. Many things are rep dependent. It's Brood of Nozdormu rep you're getting when you kill bosses in here.

Couple of notes:  We are running ICC this weekend. I hope we have the turn out. I want to run this heroically. The guild achievement is obtained only on heroic. We need to clear it. I know a number of you have never killed Arthas. Come on along.

Ragingthunder's account was hacked tonight. I bring this up, not to point fingers at him, but to explain how fast this happened. He had removed his authenticator and within 2 1/2 hours, he'd been hacked. They took a lot of stuff from the guild bank. Fortunately, we got back everything they took.

If you have to remove your authenticator for any reason, please let an officer know immediately so we can demote you to a non-bank access rank. The hack happened while we were in AQ. We all saw him log on and log off. We didn't think anything of it. They were that fast. Blizzard has restored all the stolen items. Raging's authenticator has been lost so his account is locked until a new one comes.

If you've noticed, there aren't that many gold spammers in the major cities anymore. That's not profitable to have a toon spam your message. It's more profitable to hack accounts. Don't let it happen to you. Get an authenticator and keep it on your account. Thoril had it happen to him last week under similar circumstances. Within a 4 hour window, they hacked his account and stripped him naked.

Take care of your account folks. It's stressful on everyone, myself included, when you get hacked.

icx I remember I got hacked once before, was crazy how fast it happened. That's what prompted me to get my authenticato...

Why is the Rum Gone?

Gimmlette a posted Sep 20, 11
Well it's not because the dwarves have been drinking it. We don't drink that stuff.

Avast me hearties! It's Spectacular Death's "Talk Like a Drunken Pirate Day". I got my dates wrong and "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" was yesterday. Brewfest starts today. So we'll combine the two and make the most of it.

So, today only, you must talk like a pirate in guild chat. If you don't, we all get to point at you and laugh. Yes, it will be ha-arrrrrr-rd. (See what I did there?) Let's see how many times I slip up.

With Brewfest comes a boss, Coren Direbrew, in Blackrock Depths. We will run this boss as often as people want to do it. The first time you run the boss per day, you get a satchel which can contain either the Brewfest ram or kodo or gold, usually gold, most often gold. Why is it gold? I just want the mount! Coren's trinkets have been upgraded to i365 items so perhaps the coaster is worth it this year. You need to get Brewfest achievements done if you are angling for the meta achievement "What a Long Strange Trip It's Been" and the purple proto-drake. Speak up if you need help with something. The special boss can be activated via the LFG tool if you just want to pug it.

Tonight, we will meet in Gurubashi Arena for a little pirates vs ninjas action. Everyone gets a Savory Deviate Delight and we'll form teams based on who turns into what. This is a chance to be silly and blow off some steam. Winning team gets 50g per person. We'll also do some guild dueling for a "Guild Dueling Champion". Winner of the overall round robin dueling gets 75g, a bag and a pet from our stash.

Wednesday night, we'll work on OS3 and more Glory of the Hero goodness. Take a look at your meta achievement and see what you need for the red proto-drake. These achievements are relatively easy to do and we are happy to help people get their drake.

Friday, by request, is AQ40. We haven't cleared this in some time and people would like to get the achievement and get more reputation. There are also tier 2.5 pieces that drop in here. If you are collecting any for that set, let me know. If we have a disenchanter, we're going to DE everything to continue working toward that guild achievement. But, I'm very happy to give pieces to people who are collecting them or want them because they are cool. Just speak up.

And Saturday and Sunday, by request, we will be in Icecrown Citadel. I know a lot of you have never seen this raid so please sign up and be on time. Normally, we'd do this over three days but I've only allotted 2.

Lots of things are happening as September winds down. If there is something you'd like to run in October, please let me know.
